About Spicewood The lakeside community of Spicewood is about an hour west of Austin on Hwy. 71 West, and nine miles southeast of Marble Falls, at the intersection of Blanco, Burnet and Travis counties.
Population Until 1990, population in Spicewood was a steady 110 but as development moves westward along Hwy. 71, new residents are discovering Spicewood’s beauty. The 2000 census reported a population of 5,527. Projections are that population will be at nearly 12,000 this year. Median age is 36.7 and median household income is about $42,500.
